Hi my loves, welcome to blogmas day 17! Today I'm going to be sharing some tips with you all for when the Christmas stress gets too much!
We all need a break sometimes and whether its work problems, home problems or personal problems, sometimes we just need to take a minute to breathe.
Enjoy!
- Have a bubble bath or a long shower- I love the LUSH bath bomb called Honey Bee, its my favourite and smells amazing. I also find that the Imperial Leather foam bubble baths are amazing too. Taking a long soak in the bath can really calm you down. Even a long shower can help de-stress!
- A hot drink wrapped in a blanket- Make yourself a hot drink; a tea, coffee, hot chocolate, hot juice...whatever. Wrap yourself in your favourite blanket or put on your fluffiest pyjamas and snuggle up on a chair and literally don't move!
- Movies- Disney movies work great with number 2. Stick on your favourite film, a Disney film, something feel good. There's no point watching a sad film if it's going to make you feel worse!Moana is a great one, the Aristocats, Frozen, Tangled to name a few!
- Chill with friends- sometimes you just need a movie night with your friends, or a gossip sesh...anything to get your mind off how you're feeling! Your friends will know how to cheer you up better than anyone else!
- Long walks- Wrap yourself up nice and warm and go for a walk. Sit at a beauty spot or just kee walking until you feel a little bit more free..just remember wherever you go you have to walk back!
- Take a nap- lie down, get yourself snuggled up and take a long nap. Nothing can bother you, you can just lie and be at peace for a bit. It doesn't solve all your problems but it will take your mind off it!
- Just sit- sit anywhere; on the sofa, on your bed, floor, in the shower, on the toilet, on a bench in a park...find somewhere that makes you feel comfortable and safe and just sit there with yourself. Sometimes you just need a second to exist quietly.
- Apps and websites- if anxiety is an issue there are lots of resources online for you. Calm is a great app for your phone and moodgym is also great for actually overcoming anxiety in a way, if you're willing to pay for it (one off). This website has helped me insane amounts so give it a try.
- Talk to someone- write to them, text, phone, skype, talk face to face. Blurting it all out and having a bit of a rant can take a huge weight off your shoulders. 10/10 would recommend a good pair of ears to listen to you!
- Write it down- write down whatever is bothering you and then do whatever you please with that paper. Burn it, screw it up, turn it into a goal, rip it up. Seeing it on paper might actually make it seem a bit less scary, and if not, destroying it will certainly help.
