NETFLIX SHOWS YOU NEED TO SEE | BLOGMAS DAY 10

Hey lovelies, welcome to Blogmas day 10! Today I'm going to be giving you the lowdown on the series that you need to see on Netflix.

So, if you're looking to binge a new TV show over Christmas, keep reading!

 Documentaries

This is my favourite documentary on Netflix. I absolutely love True Crime types of programmes, but  definitely wasn't expecting to love this as much as I do. Everyone has a different opinion about this case and the documentary is so enlightening and gripping.
Plot: Amanda Knox is accused of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher. The documentary follows the story of the murder, after the murder and two trials before the final verdict.
Rating: 9/10

Another one of my favourites. Blackfish is a hard hitting nature documentary that will change your opinion on Sea World forever, and will have you thinking about it for weeks.
Plot: The documentary follows Tilikum, a killer whale captured as a calf who ultimately ends up in SeaWorld. It sheds light on what drove the once free and happy whale to become a vicious man eater.
Rating: 8/10

A little bit of a light-hearted one now! If you're in need of a laugh or a pick me up then this is the show for you!
Plot: British comedian Jack Whitehall decides to go travelling and takes with him his unapologetically honest and straight thinking father.
Rating: 9/10

Netflix Originals

Jessica Jones is just the show for you if you love badass independent women. JJ is by far the best of the Netflix Marvel shows.
Plot: After encountering many cases involving people with special abilities, owner of Alias Investigations Jessica Jones uses her abilities to help the people of New York. She's rude, sarcastic and totally fierce.
Rating: 8/10 (she wears the same damn pair of shitty jeans the whole time)

Following on from Jessica Jones, this series will only make sense if you've seen all of the Marvel shows. (no matter how shitty some of the other characters are) The four come together to kick some bad guy butt.
Plot: After a lot of back and forth, the four superheros finally realise it's time to form an alliance to save New York City, alongside fighting their own personal issues.
Rating: 7/10

All you need to know is that this series is insane. Every episode is so gripping and mind blowing that you literally cannot even comprehend some of the storylines. Watch it now because there's FINALLY new episodes coming out soon!
Plot: Each episode is a standalone, twisted dystopian story that will make you question how life is now and how it could be. Often focusing on scandals and technology, Black Mirror will both terrify and intrigue you.
Rating: 10/10

This is the only "show" in here that isn't actually a show. It's a film that FINALLY was made based on my favourite book of all time, of the same name. Heart-breaking and really will give you a different outlook on life.
Plot: Sam has what seems like the perfect life...it's cruelly cut short when she gets in a car accident that kills her instantly. Except Sam wakes up, and re lives the day she dies, over and over and over again. Sam discovers that maybe her life isn't as perfect as it seems.
Rating: 10/10

Cult Favourites

Oh my god. Probably the most frustrating and annoying but somehow addicting TV show ever. PLL gets darker and darker every series and will have your brain seriously scrambled.
Plot: Four best friends come back together after their best friend Alison mysterious disappears. The little town of Rosewood is not all that it seems, and someone is out to get the girls. "A", a sinister anonymous stalker threatens to expose all their darkest secrets if they do not comply with their demands.
Rating: 7.5/10

Another classic that everyone talks about. Gossip Girl is a hilarious, mysterious and addicting series that will have you hooked. It never gets old.
Plot: The series follows a group of privileged teenagers from Manhattan's Upper East Side, who are tormented by a mysterious online blogger; Gossip Girl. GG knows the dirt on everyone and is relentless, as the teens get together, make up, break up and sleep together...all is always revealed.
Rating: 8/10 (would just like to say prepare to be disappointed by the ending. and also I guessed who GG was in series 1 lol)

While admittedly I have only seen the first three series' of this, I think they're amazing. Scary, uncensored and gripping...AHS is definitely the show for you if you love gore and taboo.
Plot: Each series follows a different set of characters and settings, often based loosely around events that happened in history. There's something for every horror/gore junkie: Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Ranoke and Cult.
Rating: 9/10

If there's one show you watch off this list, MAKE IT THIS ONE!!!!!
Plot: The series follows Scott McCall as he is bitten by a mysterious creature while in the woods with his best friend Stiles (DYLAN O'BRIEN). As well as attending high school and keeping up a relationship, Scott has to learn to live with the consequences of the bite...and face the challenges and dangers that it brings.
Rating: 10/10

Other

My final show is definitely one of my favourites and I almost certainly got way too emotionally attached to it...the tragedy is that they cancelled it after the first series. CRY. This series is addictive and if you fall in love with it like I did, it'll break your heart when you finish.
Plot: Set in the year 2149, the Earth is dying. Scientists open a fracture in time and are able to send people back to prehistoric Earth before they die with the planet. The show follows the Shannon family who arrive on the 10th pilgrimage. Of course, living on prehistoric earth means living alongside dinosaurs that cease to exist thousands of years in the future...
Rating: 10/10

That's it for my Netflix recommendations list! Let me know what your favourites are, so I can start bingeing!
