OOTD: CHELTENHAM RACES

Hello! I recently went to Cheltenham with my boyfriend to watch the horse racing (totally worth it by the way). He took me to the local races a couple of months ago and I had an amazing time and so one day he just booked the Travelodge and surprised me!
I genuinely had the best day ever and we did pretty well in terms of betting, plus we just got pissed. I'd really recommend going if you haven't been before. Plus the atmosphere at Cheltenham is just crazy, even though it wasn't the actual festival.

Anyway, today I am bringing you an outfit of the day from our day out. Obviously its only December so nowhere near the dress expectations of something like Ladies Day, but I still wanted to be smart. Warm, but smart. Without further ado, heres my Cheltenham OOTD.

H&M OOTD - KHAKI PLAYSUIT

It's the end of summer and it's that weird weather where sometimes it's completely boiling and the next it's freezing. What is that all about? Do you wear a scarf and jumper, or do you wear shorts and a crop top? The day I did this shoot it was really really warm; perfect playsuit weather.

I really struggle posing for photos and having my photo taken so this was a huge deal in terms of my confidence, but I actually really enjoyed myself and I'm happy with how the shots turned out.

Hope you enjoy!

LETS TALK ABOUT: BROCK TURNER

There is a lot of controversy surrounding the rape case involving Brock Turner in the US, and I feel like rape is not often discussed, nor are the cases. Not to mention the vast amount of judicial bias that surrounds cases when they go to court.

So, grab a cup of tea because this one's going to be lengthy, stick with me.

A LETTER TO MY 16 YEAR OLD SELF

I've realised recently how fast time really goes by....I am going to be 20 next year....TWENTY. A fully fledged adult, kind of. GCSE results was today and I literally cannot believe that it's been 3 YEARS since I left high school.
I can't even believe that I'm already going into my second year at university (still broke as fuck so no different there), but what's weird is looking back at yourself a few years ago, even just last year or a few months ago.
Thinking back to how I was when I was 16 is weird to me. I was so different, had such different outlooks on life and surprisingly a lot of different friends back then, which partly I am very glad about.
I decided to write a letter to my 16 year old self, all the advice I would give younger me...trust me, I needed it.

RESULTS DAY 2016 - IT DOES NOT DEFINE YOU

Results day comes around every year whether we like it or not. It can literally be the best day of the summer or the worst, and what's so shit is that 99% of the time we don't know how it's going to pan out at all.

The saddest thing to see is that so many people don't receive the results they dreamed of, after all that hard work and stress. It's even worse that generation by generation, there is an increasing pressure to do well in education...and that we are taught that our results define us as people.

Congratulations to everyone who either passed their first year of college or got into university, but if you didn't come out with the results you wanted, this blog post is for you.

TIPS FOR FRESHERS WEEK

Hello! This blog post goes out to anyone who is about to become a fresher at university. For those of you that don't know, freshers week to put it quite bluntly is a week for you all to settle in...to go out and get smashed.

I get that some of you may not enjoy stuff like drinking, but it's pretty much a right of passage that most new university students go through. It's a great way to make new friends and create loads of memories. I'd love to say that I remember my freshers week, but sadly I do not. Mistake number one on my part, obviously.

I like to think that you could all learn from me in some way, or at least listen to my advice, even if you don't actually follow it. So, without further ado here is a list of tips you need to know for freshers week.

A TRIP ABROAD - VERONA AND VENICE

Hey everyone! A while ago I did a photography post about my holiday, and I included some snaps from Paris and Salo. I feel like these photos are even better. During our trip to Italy, we went to Verona and Venice. Both cities were absolutely breathtaking, but by far I loved Venice the most. It's absolutely insane. I just can't seem to believe that there are absolutely no roads or cars!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at some of my photos, let me know what you think!!

RANT- SNAPCHATTING AND DRIVING

Hello everyone! I'm finally back; we had no internet at home for so long so the only time I could get it was at work...I've been dying!

While I was at work I was obviously checking all my social media to see what I missed, and Snapchat was something I checked a lot. Everyone loves snapchat right? Seeing what everyone is up to and what's going on.

One thing however that I did see a lot of was people snapchatting and driving. It drives me INSANE. Here's a short blog post about what I think of people who snapchat and drive...

THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION OF PLAYLISTS

I love music, just like the majority of us. Whether it's on Spotify or Deezer or YouTube, I'm always listening to it. I love the playlists that some music apps create for you, you know the ones to listen to for different situations or moods?

Well, I've scoured my music library and the rest of the internet to bring you the ultimate collection of playlists...for now anyway! If you want to leave me other suggestions for playlists then feel free to do so because I had so much fun creating these! Enjoy!

A TRIP ABROAD- PARIS AND SALO, LAKE GARDA

For the past two weeks I have been on holiday with my family, probably the last one I'll ever go on with them to be honest. We drove from our home all the way to Paris for a day in DisneyLand (on the day of the bloody EUROS, may I add, thanks mum)..and then continued down to a campsite in Lake Garda, Italy. I have so so many photos I'd love to share with you all, so I thought I'd split the photos into multiple blog posts.

I've never been to Italy before, but I can now say its by far my favourite place ever to go. It's simply breathtaking. Without futher ado, here's some pictures from Paris, DisneyLand, our campsite in Lake Garda and the nearby town, Salo.

AN OPEN LETTER TO ANY GIRL WHO HAS HER HEART BROKEN

NOT ALL THOSE WHO WANDER ARE LOST

I recently read a book that changed the way I think, changed my life if you will. This book was "All The Bright Places" by Jennifer Niven. I stumbled across this book in two ways; one via Zoella and her book club, the other by recommendation of a friend of mine, Shauna, who literally made it her goal to get me to read this book. In the past she has led me to my favourite book of all time; Eleanor and Park.
Anyway, I read this book in just a few hours as myself and my family were travelling down to Italy in the car. I had to grab a pack of tissues and muffle myself because everyone else was asleep, I was a mess.
Basically, I won't spoil it too much, but a character I grew very fond of in the book, Finch, likes to wander. To visit the sights that the world has to offer him. Rather relevantly, i was on my way to italy, visiting it for the first time, and it got me thinking about "wandering"; travelling if you will.
Although Finch is rather lost, not all those who wander are lost.

HONEST REVIEW- URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN FOUNDATION

Urban Decay. If you're into makeup and haven't heard of this brand... where have you been?! Urban Decay is the name above the Naked palettes, the All Nighter setting spray and the primer potion.
I was in Debenhams the other day and decided to splash out on the Naked Skin foundation, I've seen loads of YouTubers talk about this and wanted to give it a try.
Along with the foundation, I also bought the mini bottle of the All Nighter setting spray (only £9..how could I resist?!).
Without further ado, lets have a chat about whether this foundation was worth my precious money!

DAY IN LEAMINGTON- A WALK IN THE PARK

I visited a friend for a couple of days and we drove into Leamington for a few hours. I've never been actually into Leamington and was pleasantly surprised by how pretty it is.

WHAT TO TAKE TO UNIVERSITY

Moving away from home and into university is a bit of a whirlwind, plus it involves a LOT of shopping to buy stupid adult things that you need when you live alone.

Forget shopping for your favourite makeup or clothes, the summer just before university should be spent preparing a little more. I remember basically working full time straight after my exams finished in order to save up for uni. It was worth it though, I had more than enough when I moved in.

The only part that's difficult is knowing what to take. Its so easy to forget things because we literally see them every day at home. So, without further ado, here is my quick and easy guide on what to take to university.

RELATIONSHIP LABELS

Relationships seem to have become more and more complicated since I was younger, and I'm only nineteen now. In primary school, you were either going out or you weren't. The sort of relationships when you would freak out if you held hands... adorable. I remember crushing so hard on a boy and then just going from that to being in a relationship, it was simple..no drama. Cheating didn't really exist back then. I vaguely remember the term "two-timing", but that's about it. Young hearts healed fast, we moved on. We didn't have the influence of social media, or the cheating culture that seems to have developed now.

Where the hell did everything go wrong?

ASSIGNMENT MOTIVATION AT UNIVERSITY

Living at uni in a student house or a flat is great, but obviously comes with distractions. There's always someone procrastinating, or something going on to give you a reason not to do your work.

Especially with my course being practical, it means I have loads of assignments, normally shovelled onto me all at bloody once... and its not helpful when I don't have my mum on my case all the time about revision and coursework like I did when I lived at home and went to college.

So, here are my tips for really knuckling down and getting motivated for all your assignments at university.

HONEST REVIEW - MARY- LOU MANIZER

The Balm has become a more and more well known makeup brand in the last couple of years. I'm sure you'll of heard of the nude 'tude palette and the Bahama mama bronzer. But perhaps one of the most popular products by the Balm is the Mary Lou manizer highlight powder.

Just like the Hoola Bronzer, its an expensive product which you don't want to waste your pennies on. So, here is a quick review of one of the most talked about highlighters in makeup.

Fresher Year - A Survival Guide

CALLING ALL FUTURE FIRST YEARS!!

Going to uni can be really daunting, and a big step from your cushty life back at home with your parents. Its sort of like going from waiter service to self cater. Uni throws you in the deep end, it literally forces you to grow up, no matter how hard you fight it.

BUT, having just finished my first year I can safely say that it is the best thing you will ever do. I was miserable, lonely and had just been dumped... attractive right? Uni really helped me sort myself out, find myself and as well as finding the best friends in the world, it's solidified my decision to pursue journalism.

So, without further ado, here is my ultimate survival guide to your fresher year at university.

HONEST REVIEW - BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER

One of the most popular products that Benefit sells by far is the Hoola bronzer; it's everywhere.

Beauty bloggers in particular love it, and I'm sure if you're into makeup you'll have seen it all over YouTube.

I was gifted the Hoola bronzer for my birthday, and I'm here to give you a full rundown on the product itself.

a night out as a teenage girl

Before I moved to university, I had never been out out. The sort of out where you actually leave the house and go to a club. Growing up in a small market town, the only thing to do was pub crawl until you were absolutely off your tits, and then go mental at the mini disco at the dirtiest pub in town. Sad, but true. I didn't really know what to expect when I first went out, so I just threw myself into it... now I can get pissed in just over half an hour and know all the words to multiple Fetty Wap songs.
